Installation and Servicing

Andy from ALW Plumbing and Heating did a great job installing an elderly customer's boiler and servicing it annually for five years. He was efficient and thorough in his work, which was reflected in the customer's initial positive rating.

Faulty Boiler Incident

However, the customer's experience took a turn for the worse when their 85-year-old mother called Andy to report a fault with the boiler. Despite diagnosing the issue, Andy dismissed her concerns, advising her that the boiler simply needed topping up with water. He told her that he had already shown her how to do this and would not be able to visit the house for two weeks. Unfortunately, this advice was incorrect, and subsequent independent plumbers confirmed that the boiler had a fault. As a result, the customer's mother was left without central heating or hot water for two weeks during the winter months. The customer was left feeling disappointed and let down by Andy's response.
